Them Classics…There #2 & #3

Missed out yesterday’s one, felt like absolute crap so there’s two for ya today ;)

Lethal Bizzle – Pow

If it wasn’t for Wiley’s “Eskimo” I probably would’ve called this the greatest grime tune ever. Yes, EVER. Dexplicit’s ear drum eliminating beat combined with several top MC’s bars was enough to drive people into picking up there possesions and throwing them violently at anything/anyone in their path. Even today when this is played at a party I have to get up and do my watch-me-’cos-I-know-all-the-words bit. Especially when it comes to Napper’s legendary “I’llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll CRACK YOUR SKULL”.

And now for the second of today’s classical portion

Dizzee Rascal – Stop Dat

More of a personal choice there really. Number 32 on my most played songs EVER. Another of those I could spit from start to end. The lyrics have been remixed and used loads of times (SEE: P Money – P Is A Rascal). I love this song deerly. The beats, the bars and the brilliant album on which it came from (Boy In Da Corner).

So for today folks, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

“Erection Flow…NO HOMO”

Still a star in the hood...

Still a star in the hood...

I chose that title because I’ve just finished listening to Tinchy Stryder’s current in store CD “Stryder Vs Maniac”. Since that release the “pint-sized” MC from Bow has been supremely busy, trying his hardest to cement Grime into a more, let’s say, wider audienced category. Along that winding road has come 3 attempts. “Stryderman” didn’t reach the top 10, however it was playlisted on National daytime radio 1 (Props to Jo Whiley). “Take Me Back” enlisted the help of worldwide sucess story Taio Cruz and that got much further then Stryderman. And after that, “Cloud-9 Strydes” finnaly hit the big-time, getting a national Number 1 with N-Dubz’ Dappy on top song “Number 1″ (Didn’t see that one coming did you ?). So, with one number one already in the bag, what’s next for Stryderman ?

That is. Amelle from pop collective Sugababes provides nice vocals to Tinchy’s latest single “Never Leave You”, dropping on the 13th of August. Listening carefully enough will show you that, a female isn’t the object of Tinchy’s lyrics here, it is the grime scene. Is there anyone else pushing the scene as far at the moment ? They’re invisible if so. Download Tinchy’s brand new “Star In The Hood” EP now, by clicking the above picture or the link below. ;) .

Blacks – 1.5

Big up South London MC Blacks who evidently has been putting in work with his latest project “1.5″. The promo is out to bulid hype for his forthcoming CD “Sick Individual” and it features some of House Of Grime’s own affilates Ardest Barrers and Germz. Make sure you listen to the Logan Sama set at the end featuring himself with P Money and Little Dee. Also skip to “Is He Real” and “Slump Man” (over Nocturnals – Don’t Phone Me). Peace.
