Them Classics There…#5
So today, Frankz decided to let me have a go at this section of the blog! I had several ideas, but I’ll won’t share, i’ll let them stay for a diferent day. Then I thought of maybe doing a beat. And then it hit me. One of my favourite instrumentals ever was the beat for one of my favourite songs ever (not in just grime, ALL genres). So todays classic is Kano – Get Set feat. Ghetto, Big Seac, Demon and Doctor, produced by Low Deep! The beat is classic. The bars are classic. It’s tunes like this which make me wish Big Seac spat more often. So no more chit-chat-shit, check out the tune itself… enjoy!
Them Classics There…#4
Newham Generals – Frontline
Another great classic here, posted this one for the beat as well, Big E-D done alot. Shows why Footsie and D Dobule E are often considered as two of the best in the scene
.
Them Classics…There #2 & #3
Missed out yesterday’s one, felt like absolute crap so there’s two for ya today
Lethal Bizzle – Pow
If it wasn’t for Wiley’s “Eskimo” I probably would’ve called this the greatest grime tune ever. Yes, EVER. Dexplicit’s ear drum eliminating beat combined with several top MC’s bars was enough to drive people into picking up there possesions and throwing them violently at anything/anyone in their path. Even today when this is played at a party I have to get up and do my watch-me-’cos-I-know-all-the-words bit. Especially when it comes to Napper’s legendary “I’llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll CRACK YOUR SKULL”.
And now for the second of today’s classical portion
Dizzee Rascal – Stop Dat
More of a personal choice there really. Number 32 on my most played songs EVER. Another of those I could spit from start to end. The lyrics have been remixed and used loads of times (SEE: P Money – P Is A Rascal). I love this song deerly. The beats, the bars and the brilliant album on which it came from (Boy In Da Corner).
So for today folks, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Them Classics….THERE !!
Everyday I’m going to be posting up a song/video that I feel should be called a classic. Them Classics…There.
The Milkymans: Nikki S & Nyke (Feat. Solo, Big Narstie, Doctor, Flirta D, Marcie Phonix, iYak, Bashy, Bonesly, Desperado, Thug Chic & Fugi) – Ska Project 1 – The Pukka Package.
After buying Milyman’s CD & DVD bundle “The Pukka Package” last week, I came across this old gem. Feauturing some of the best MC’s from back in the day, “8-Barring” over Pelle’s “Ska Riddim”. Go and get the 2 CD plus DVD bonanza now feauturing some of Milyman’s best songs to date including “Slags” and “Confessions”. Click on the image to purchase.
