Behave Yourself….

So with there collective-mixtape dropping this week, up and coming crew Behave Yourself have just launched a brand spanking new range of T Shirts.

Pink..Green..Orange

Pink..Green..Red

My Favourite Blue

My Favourite Blue

The Tee’s were an idea from group members Untitled, Evolver & Messy.

“To promote the brand and get people wearing a slogan we believe in”

That’s what Untitled told me the reasons for the T Shirts were.

“There are alot more things in the pipeline. I don’t really want to speak until it happens but expect things like pens etc”

The colors seen above are not the whole range, you have

Men – Red, Blue, Grey & White

Ladies – Red, Blue & Pink

Also, buy your copy of Entity from there now, jam packed with tunes from each BY member and 3 productions from each of the producers as well.

This describes it better

A quick word with….Kanika Love !

Kanika Love is one of the countries fastest up and coming talents, I caught up with her to find out about her influences, her future plans plus how she feel’s about the UK Music scene at the moment.

Me: So Kanika Love….tell us a little bit about yourself ..

Kanika Love: Well I’m 21 years young, a Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Fine Artist/Fashion Designer/Graphic Designer…. I also play the clarinet and trumpet.

Me: Wow..Talk about many talents..so where did you get your inspiration for singing ?

Kanika: ;) well I believe I was sent from another planet on a mission to change the world, it’s why God blessed me with many talents to use them to bless others with… what inspired me is my older sister who is also a singer. Seeing her sing made me want to sing to rise above her vocally… so she is my number one inspiration. That’s why many call me Wonder Woman ;)

Me: Ha…you mentioned quite a bit other than singing..out of all of them, what’s is your favourite to do ?

Kanika: I love to do all of them, there’s not one that I don’t love and it’s because I was blessed with the talent you know there are people who would love to have the talents I have it’s why I decided to do something with all of them. I’m actually studying Fine art/Fashion design in college entering my last year of A levels in September.

Me: Ahh OK good luck with that. Who would be your ideal figure to work with in terms of music, and why ?

Kanika: Hmm I don’t really have an ideal figure but there are a few artists I would be interested in working with. I’m all up for my U.K fam. There’s so many people hat stand out for me personally.

Me: Yeah I’m hearing that. As someone who is heavily involved in music, what is your favourite genre/style ?

Kanika: For me personally I don’t have a set genre/style, I like to keep an optimistic mind and I welcome all types and I love trying out different styles and genres !

Me: Ok that’s fair enough. We’re half way through 2009 what are your aims before the year ends ?

Kanika: I got a few set one of them is to record my 1st single which is going to be featuring a mainstream artist.. cant’s expose any names right now but I’ve been told it’s a tune to watch out for by several artists.. .also to get my fashion line out, gonna be designing a few glasses for a college project so gonna see how that goes and just get my self known to the world as WONDER WOMAN !

Me: Ha Ha I see I see. What about long term. In 3 years where can you see yourself ?

Kanika: I see my self signed working on the FIRST album and also working on the clothing line with my partner Pembe as I said previously, I will have a line coming out by the end of the year… also starting my own foundation for the youths I wanna give back and help others make their dreams come true ;)

Me: Wow..so you’ve certainly put thought into your career…what do you think of the UK’s current music scene ?

Kanika: Most deff you need to in this day and age.. gotta be focused in what you do! Personally I’ve seen a come up in the U.K’S scene, but again it could be moving more if everyone came together and wern’t in it just for them selves it’s not a competition people should be doing music for the love of it not to be making money. Most U.K artists don’t give a toss about anyone else they don’t want to help each other which is a very big downfall for the U.K scene. It’s why I vowed I would ALWAYS help anyone who I think has talent regardless even if it takes me years I will always
reply to people and try my best to help.

Me: All to true. It’s nice to see someone content with helping out, are there people supporting you and helping yourself at the moment ?

Kanika: No not at the moment I mean most people only wanna help out the people who are already known which is all good ;) but everything I have accomplished so far I’ve done it by myself which is very big considering what I have done so far and what is happening right now.

Me: Well I’m helping you ;) . Your name is Kanika love, for those who are not sure explain what that means.

Kanika: Thanks hun it is most appreciated. Well the name “Kanika” means”Black” in Egyptian I chose the name “Kanika Love” because I wanted a name that represented me and my culture and that’s how I came up with the name “Kanika Love” : “Black Love”.

Me: Simple but effective :D . Well thanks for taking time out to speak to me, any shoutouts ?

Kanika: Yeah my first shout out is to my older sis Roz also an up and coming singer watch out for her on my 1st single, my business partner Pembe, my girl from the states Camechia, FDM, Charlie Brown, Musical D, my twinz in the states Coco And Breezy, my bro Harmony aka H Money and the Truth large up the whole BOE fam, Follow faith, my bro Mark Asari, Shizzle, my girl Nicholle Monique, Yooo Everett and of course yourself.

SO there you have it. That was actually one of my favourite interviews. Make sure to follow Kanika on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/KanikaLove ;) Peace.

Catch Him If You Can…..

Will Eski & Skepta catch him...or is he off ??

Will Eski & Skepta catch him...or is he off ??

Where do I start with Bashy ??? I’ve been critical of him as of late, but I guess it’s time I start chewing up my words. What he is doing for the music scene is un-paralelled. Bashy’s Kidulthood 2 Adulthood (Manaic Production) was the only Grime song to chart in 2008. Plus, with all the added glory from his nationwide sensation Black Boys, Bashy is pretty much a household name. After 3 mixtapes, the time has come for Bashy to start his “Professional music journey” with his very 1st album: Catch Me If You Can. The album features support from the likes of smooth vocalist Loick Essien, platinum album selling artists N Dubz, pop sensation Jamelia plus many many more. With heavy production supprt from Naughty Boy and other prodcutive input from The Truth Movement, Toddla T & Maniac, this CD is due to be legendary. Make sure you buy your copy from all leading retailers nationwide or order online from these places:
